Pilates is a perfect compliment to other fitness modalities.
Pilates alone is enough, but we at Flex Pilates South Africa understand that the majority of people engage in other forms of exercise. We encourage any type of healthy movement but did you know that just 2 sessions a week on the reformer can greatly increase your muscle tone, balance and flexibility?
Whether you are a yogi, runner, golfer, cyclist, cross-fit enthusiast, rugby player, cricketer, boxer, swimmer, horse rider or hiker, Flex Pilates classes are a great compliment to your exercise or sport of choice. As the saying goes, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.” You must change things up if you expect to get your body in peak performance. Core strength and stability is crucial for any exercise or sport.
Through precise movements and breathing, Pilates works your core each and every time you practice. Pilates focuses on functional movement and this is especially true if you are working on the reformer. Because you are on moving equipment with resistance, you are less likely to “cheat” as is common in Mat classes. If you don’t “feel” an exercise, you are doing it wrong. That is a fact! With the reformer, we can adjust spring tensions specifically for you and create fun but challenging classes to counter balance the activities you participate in regularly.
Our studio has several class options ranging from beginner to advanced and we encourage you to take the time to get to know your body before advancing your repertoire. You are always challenged and never limited at Flex Pilates. We have fun group equipment Pilates classes plus we offer Pilates cardio classes, TRX & Barre to keep you fit and always wanting more.
